Six Strings x 3 Fingerstyle Guitarists
Winner of the 2013 Fretboard Festival and runner up at both the 2013 Canadian Guitar Festival and 2014 Indiana Stringfest, fingerstyle guitarist David Youngman has been sharing his gift for instrumental music around the country for over 15 years. Youngman received a degree in his formal study of both Classical and Jazz guitar, but also spent years outside the academic world to explore other genres, developing a “Jazzgrass” style with the group Afterthought. The group performed around the Midwest for three years and recorded two albums. Like his main influence Bela Fleck, Youngman has been intrigued by so many styles that his Folk Fingerstyle music mixes of elements of Jazz, Bluegrass, Pop, Celtic, Funk, and Classical genres.
