Organic Abstractions: Series 2
Exhibit Dates: July 15 - August 15, 2015
Artist Reception: Saturday, August 15 @ 7:00-9:00pm
The exhibit Organic Abstractions: Series 2 by artist Timothy Wells is a series of large photographic prints. Wells begins with an image of an object and then digitally manipulates the object to abstract it so it no longer looks like the original object. The resulting abstraction allows the viewer to experience the created image without preconceived ideas and lets the viewer to create their own idea of what they see in the photograph. Is it a photograph from space? Is it real? Is it a dream?
The exhibit will be on display at The Mayflower Arts Center's Lobby Gallery from July 15-August 15, with a closing reception and artist talk on August 15 from 7:00 9:00pm. Wells is the Mayflower Arts Center Artist-in-Residence during July and August, and will have open studio hours during his residency. Gallery/Studio hours are Wed/Thurs, 10-3pm and Fri/Sat, 10-6pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
