In honor of downtown Troy's bi-annual public art exhibit, Sculptures On The Square, featuring J. Seward Johnson's 30 foot sculpture of Abraham Lincoln and a modern-day man, The Mayflower Arts Center has partnered with Miami County Visitors & Conventions Bureau, Troy Community Radio, and Troy Main Street to bring you a summer-long series of movies called the Lincoln Film Festival. We hope you enjoy these films, presented in order of history (and including one for a little fun).

Synopsis:
Lincoln is a 2012 American epic historical drama film directed by Steven Spielberg. With the nation embroiled in still another year with the high death count of Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis) brings the full measure of his passion, humanity and political skill to what would become his defining legacy: to end the war and permanently abolish slavery through the 13th Amendment. Having great courage, acumen and moral fortitude, Lincoln pushes forward to compel the nation, and those in government who oppose him, to aim toward a greater good for all mankind.
Lincoln received widespread critical acclaim, with major praise directed to the acting, especially Day-Lewis' performance, as well as the cinematography and direction. In December 2012, the film was nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director for Spielberg and winning Best Actor (Motion Picture – Drama) for Day-Lewis. At the 85th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for 12 Academy Awards including Best Picture; it won for Best Production Design and Best Actor for Day-Lewis
