Watch award-winning films at the Mayflower Arts Center Virtual Theater!

What is Virtual Theater?
Thanks to a partnership with several independent movie distributors, we are excited to be bringing you movies virtually from the Mayflower! This is an opportunity for you to DIRECTLY support our local theater during these uncertain times. It is still our goal to bring you well-made and thought-provoking features, retros, indies, and documentaries — films that not only allow us time to escape, but stir the soul and ignite our creativity and imagination. Come experience a new way to screen movies with us... in the comfort and safety of your own home!

THEATER 1 - Now Showing
MONUMENTS (2020)
A young widower sidesteps grief, loss, and familial dysfunction when he steals his wife's ashes and sets off on an impulsive odyssey through America's heartland to find something he'd lost long before her death.
Presented by Row House Films and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater

THEATER 2 - Now Showing
SLOW MACHINE (2020)
Stephanie, a restless and vibrant actress, meets Gerard, an NYPD counter-terrorism specialist who’s an aficionado of experimental theater (and maybe out of his mind). Flirtation ensues, ends disastrously, and forces Stephanie to the ramshackle upstate home of musician Eleanor Friedberger, yet this supposed escape is infected by violent memories of her past life. A miniature epic of paranoia, espionage, subterfuge, music, and performance captured on lush and invigorating 16mm, SLOW MACHINE heralds major new talent.
Presented by Film Movement and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater

THEATER 3 - Now Showing
MALNI-TOWARDS THE OCEAN, TOWARDS THE SHORE (2020)
A poetic, experimental debut feature circling the origin of the death myth from the Chinookan people in the Pacific Northwest, małni (pronounced: moth-nee) – towards the ocean, towards the shore follows two people as they wander through their surrounding nature, the spirit world, and something much deeper inside. At its center are Sweetwater Sahme and Jordan Mercier, who take separate paths contemplating their afterlife, rebirth, and death. Probing questions about humanity’s place on earth and other worlds, Sky Hopkina’s film will have audiences thinking (and dreaming) about it long after.
Presented by Grasshopper Film and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater
