Watch award-winning films at the Mayflower Arts Center Virtual Theater!

What is Virtual Theater?
Thanks to a partnership with several independent movie distributors, we are excited to be bringing you movies virtually from the Mayflower! This is an opportunity for you to DIRECTLY support our local theater during these uncertain times. It is still our goal to bring you well-made and thought-provoking features, retros, indies, and documentaries — films that not only allow us time to escape, but stir the soul and ignite our creativity and imagination. Come experience a new way to screen movies with us... in the comfort and safety of your own home!

THEATER 1
JAZZ ON A SUMMER'S DAY (1959)

Filmed at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival in Rhode Island and directed by world-renowned photographer Bert Stern, Jazz on a Summer's Day features intimate performances by an all-star line-up of musical legends including Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Gerry Mulligan, Anita O'Day, Chuck Berry, Dinah Washington, and closes with a beautiful rendition or The Lord's Prayer by Mahalia Jackson at midnight to usher in Sunday morning.
Presented by Kino Lorber and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater

THEATER 2
MR. TOPAZE (1961)
Long considered a “lost” classic, MR. TOPAZE was digitally restored from the lone surviving 35mm prints in the BFI National Archive at the request of the British public.
Presented by Film Movement, American Cinematheque, and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater

THEATER 3
BUNGALOW (2002)
A major work of the celebrated Berlin School, the debut of Ulrich Köhler (IN MY ROOM) is a mesmerizing portrait of a young German soldier named Paul who goes AWOL and returns to his childhood home in the countryside.
Presented by Grasshopper Film and Mayflower Arts Center VIRTUAL Theater
